Alfonso Portillo, Jr. is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Schwab Asset Management. He is responsible for the day-to-day co-management of the Schwab Taxable Bond Mutual Funds and Schwab Fixed-Income ETFs. His primary focus is securitized products.

Prior to joining Schwab in 2007, Mr. Portillo worked for 10 years at Pacific Investment Management Company, most recently as a vice president and member of the mortgage and asset-backed portfolio management team. He has worked in fixed income asset management since 1996.

Mr. Portillo earned a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and the Berkeley Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Southern California.
