John Sturiale, CFP®, AIF®
John Sturiale is a Managing Director and Head of Product Management and Innovation supporting Schwab Asset Management®. Mr. Sturiale leads the teams responsible for product strategy, product development and management, and client experience for the Schwab ETFsTM, Schwab Funds®, and separate account strategies managed by Schwab Asset Management and the Charles Schwab Trust Bank Collective Investment Trusts (CITs).
Mr. Sturiale has more than 30 years’ experience in the investment and financial services industry. Prior to his current role, Mr. Sturiale was Head of Sales and Client relations supporting Schwab Asset Management where he led the team responsible for distribution and client relations. Previously, he led the product management and client portfolio strategist teams. He also spent time as a portfolio manager and head of the business line for the CITs. He oversaw the team responsible for growing the CITs from start up to $13 billion in assets. Prior to joining Schwab, Mr. Sturiale was a portfolio manager for the retirement plan services group at National City Bank for three years. He also spent seven years as an investment analyst and senior portfolio manager with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he was part of the team responsible for the investment of Goodyear’s $2.5 billion defined benefit pension plan. Mr. Sturiale developed the Sturiale Consistency Ratio (SCR), a measure used by advisers in the industry to analyze the frequency and magnitude of a mutual fund’s outperformance versus a benchmark. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events addressing trends and developments in the institutional asset management area.
Mr. Sturiale earned a Master of Business Administration from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Science in finance from The University of Akron. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designee, and holds Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses.
